We are delighted to offer for sale this lovely 1978 MGB.
The current owner has had many happy memories driving this car for the last few years and now due to a need to downsize its time for the next owner to continue enjoying this car.
We were incredibly impressed with how well this car drove. It is comfortable with plenty of go when required coupled with excellent steering response and brakes.
We dont know much about its early history however we do know the car came in as an import in 1993 and then went to The House of MG, who were MG specialists based in Brisbane. A modification plate with their name on it indicates a LHD to RHD conversion was made at that time and is dated 1997.
We have contacted 2 previous owners of the car and it is clear a lot of substantial work was undertaken including an engine overhaul, work to the diff, brakes and fitment of an overdrive gearbox amongst other items. The current owner has also invested in required maintenance to the car including servicing, work to the brake lines, clutch slave and master and diff.
The body is in excellent order with no signs of corrosion. We would assume the car received new paint when it arrived in Australia and has stood the test of time well. There is the odd blemish but nothing significant. The off-white colour looks lovely and is a refreshing change to red!
The inside of the car is excellent and a nice place to be. The cloth seats are comfortable and in excellent order. The soft top hood is also in excellent condition. A desirable black hard top (with interior lighting) also comes with the car. The timber veneers, dashboard, carpets are all spot on as are the gauges too.
The black mini-lite wheels look right and suit the car well.
Turn the key and you immediately hear that throaty note from an MG engine. The throttle response is excellent. Out on the open road it really is a delight to drive and you feel entirely confident in driving long distances in this car. It has clearly been well sorted.
For a QLD buyer there is a added bonus of personalised plates 7MG8 which will be transferred with the car.
The car is serviced and ready for its next owner to enjoy.
