We are delighted to have for sale a nicely modified Alfa Romeo Giulia Super (Tipo 105.26). In period this was an iconic, race-bred Italian sports saloon produced from 1965 to the 1970s. It brilliantly married a practical 4-door, 5-seat body with a spirited DOHC inline-4 engine, famously allowing it to outpace many sports cars of its era.
We believe this example was produced in late 1969 and delivered new in 1970 to Alec Mildren NSW and the compliance plate on the car is date stamped 12/70.

We understand the original owner was an Engineer and worked on the Snowy Mountain scheme and wanted fast comfortable transport to commute between there and his home in Sydney.

A significant amount of work has been undertaken on the car by the second and current owner and it is now for sale due to the immediate need for space along with commitments to other projects. He has owned the car for more than 20 years.
The original 1600cc motor has been replaced by a later refreshed 2.0 litre unit fitted with twin 40 Dellortos which gives the car a healthy increase in power and torque. It also makes for an entertaining drive with the 5-speed gearbox a delight to use and the Dellortos having been rebuilt providing a throttle response that is spot on. The car also benefits from the fitment of an LSD and the engine bay is spotless and presents beautifully.

Out on the open road this Giulia Super is agile, responsive and its handling lives up to its reputation as one that humbled many sports cars of its time. It really wants to go and the 2-litre motor just begs to be revved. The gearbox is a delight to use and the brakes are excellent. A lot of time has been spent in getting this car set-up correctly. The suspension has been set-up for fast road use with upgrades from Classic Alfa and Alfaholics. However this has been well set up providing excellent communication from the road but without being harsh and uncomfortable.

The body of the car was striped, and its condition was excellent with no signs of rust or rot with very little metal work required. Originally Bianco Spino, it was resprayed in the period correct Arancia orange colour which we think is just stunning and suits the car incredibly well. This colour was used on South African delivered Giulia Supers and also on the later Montreal cars. The paint is generally in excellent order throughout however there are a few small stone chips expected from use but thats being picky.

All the lights and lenses are in perfect condition and the indicators retain their strong orange colour, the brightwork is generally very good with only minor signs of tarnishing.
The interior is a lovely place to be. The front seats are not original however have been replaced by very desirable Recaros covered in correct dark grey cloth to match the rear seats. They look wonderful and they are also incredibly comfortable to sit in! New carpets have been fitted throughout and the headlining is in excellent order.

The drivers view is excellent, and the cabin feels light and airy and a nice place to be. The dashboard shows no signs of cracking and the classic gauges looks superb. An aftermarket Nardi steering wheel suits the car well.
The fitment of the modern Airconditioning unit makes for added comfort when required and works incredibly well. This is a rare addition to any classic car and makes it a far more useable.

The TZ wheels are a real feature of this car and the ride height is perfect to the eye complimenting the purposeful intent of the car.
Mechanically the car is ready to go with significant work including to the engine, cooling, brakes and suspension.

The car comes with records and invoices work commissioned by the current owner, all conducted by a marque specialist.

Overall, this represents a lovely example of the ever-desirable Giulia Super with much work done taking it to another level in terms of performance and handling with the added benefit of air-conditioning being fitted. The car will be sold unregistered but freshly serviced and ready to go.
